MSD instuctions for the 6al show a Tach output and how to hook up the 2 step.

plug the green wire from the tach into the 6al tach output. Use a female spade connector on the green wire and plug it into the box. The two step just hooks into the high end rev limiter side of the 6al and then has a power to a switch and a ground. Do you have a mulitple position adjuster for rpm to go into the window switch? it allows you to dial in your two step rpm so you don't have to swap pills. Something to look into.

when my factory tach reads 2000rpms the monster tach reads 4000rpms, why is doubling the rpms?

Do you have a 4 cyl tach in a v8 car?

If you bought the tach used, it could have had the wires clipped to make it a 4 cyl tach. You need to read the instructions where it tells you about the difference in 4-6-8 cyl operation.

reconnect the 4 wires at the back of the tach, you'll end up with two loops.

Orange and Brown wires I believe.
