i took my converts off my 2002 stang when i just had xpipe and flows and it sounded good when it was idleing but when drove it not so good at all...

now i have cold air intake 70mm tb, upper plentium, its tuned and has shorty headers, xpipe and flows. was wondering what it would sound like if i took the converts off again...

I would suggest getting an h-pipe. :bigthumb That's what I have on my Cobra and I love the sound of it. Before I bought the Cobra I didn't like the sound of the 4.6 engine all that well.

I don't think the mods you have done to your car will change the sound much.

thanks hopefully putting a intake will help out make it a lil louder and deeper at idle

An intake manifold is not going to change your exhaust sound...

That Dr.Gas x-pipe you bought from me had high flow cats on it so I dont know how much of a change it will give you.

Josh the only real difference will be that you will have more Rasp coming under load..... Don't bother doing it

It's a metal tinging sound... it sounds like it is bogging and then starts tinging... it hard to explain but I would leave your cats in becasue it keeps the back pressure up....

don't dick with it. an H pipe will deepin the sound just a little bit but thats about it. Plus high flow cats is just what it sounds like. There is hardly any resistance in them. If you want really deep exhaust your gonna have to redo your exhaust system and drop about a grand into it. Long tubes w/ matching H and some 40 flows will deepen it but its not worth the work unless everything is torn out already and you have the money to do so.

Offroad H + chambered mufflers will be loud and sound awesome. Unfortunately, you'll sound like every other Mustang out on the road.

Offroad X + straight-through muffler will make an extra HP or two on the dyno and makes a higher-pitched, more exotic sounding note.

I've had both and like each for different reasons.....but my current setup is an offroad Bassani X with matching catback.

And in my opinion, cats make a HUGE difference in the sound department!!!!! I swapped a catted X for an offroad X.....both Bassani.....and it felt like it doubled the sound output!!!! (but for me, it's still not loud enough....not like My 00 GT was with the offroad H + 2 chamber flows.)

Does it matter that i have BBK headers, Catted Dr. Gas X-pipe, and flowmaster mufflers 40Series? should they all be the same brand

no the brands really don't make any difference at all. Just keep what you have and you should be fine.
