Thats right, Friday after all this nasty snow and ice storms are long gone, I slip on a smal patch of black ice in a parking lot and I wound up breaking my lower left leg. Right now it's set with pins and a brace because of swelling but I'll have to have surgery to get it all fixed up. I'm on my back for atg least 3 weeks and it could be up to 6 mouths before I can walk without assistace.

Yes, Lots of those but it only takes the edge off the pain. Just got back from the doc's and the so it's on track with having the surgery Monday or Tuesday. I go back Friday for (hopfully) one last inspection before surgery.

Of course there are automatic transmissions.
Thats what I've raced the most. Better for bracket racing but still this has taken away from planned 4x4 rallies and and a family spring break get away.

If you are mobile after the doctors get done with you, you get special treatment at restaurants and stuff.

Damn that looks like it hurts. For the pain, I had 1 1/2 root canals done a few years ago and 2 hydrocodones and 1 beer made me sleep for 24 hours straight. Try that.

Went to the doctors this morning and got good news. The sweeling has gone down and so the surgery scheduled for monday is a go. This will remove my "LCA's" and they'll install the perminant rod along the tibia. I'll have at least 2 weeks of laying on my back with my leg elevated and from there we'll see. I should be able to return to work by April with restrictions, but it's better than sitting around.

Got AFLAC ?

 No quacks here, :D

I do have insurance and fortunately it won't cost me too much once it's all done with. I'll have a $500 co-pay for being checked in the hospital twice the 20% of lab test but the rest should be covered 100%. I'm thinking I'll have about $1600 - 2000 out of pocket when done.

Just an update:

Surgery was done Monday and things went well there. 3 hours, one metal plate and 14 screws later. Didn't sleep at all monday night due to deep pain in the bones, not even Morphine helped. Had a slight fever but it didn't delay my discharge and I got to sleep at home last night. Well back to watching boring TV again.

Thanks guys. Getting laid up like this really makes you think of some of the things we take for granted. Just a simple walk to the commode is a physcal workout now.

Hey Tim, I leave the games to my son. He has both PS2 and an XBOX. Soon to get a 360 but thanks to a good friend, he set me up with a laptop while I'm off my feet and with my wireless connection it has made things better since I can check out my two favorite boards, nkyfba and sbz.
