I have an idea about putting together a race for shitz and gigglez.....

1/4 mile,heads up,radial tires....no DRAG radials,..just radials...up to a 315.
No back half cars,(oh chit..my cousins got a 39X17.50X15 street tire,tubbed firechicken)..nope not allowed!!! minitubs..ok. but street radials thats it... exaple:michelin,goodyear,kumho,toyo,sumitomo,bridg estone,firestone,etc...

$20 bucks to enter
$300 first place.$100 r/u
All run field, remember its heads up but its on radials....

Just wanted your opinion on this..i think it would be fun and interesting to watch!!!

Post up!!!!! i want to know if this would be a good idea????

I think it would be a cool race and could work if you get enough cars to enter. I think Clay City use to have a "real" radial class as part of their Street Warz series. One race I was at I saw a malibu wagon on spray running mid to high 10's on real radials.

I think that's a good idea. It would give me a chance to use my new video camera and tape a lot of bangerz all at one time and make a bad ass video! I'm sure Jason would be down to join in the festivities if his car gets done soon!

I'd like to see this too. Would you be open to other cars as well or are you thinking a Mustang event? I have a car or three that would fit the bill pretty well.

They make sticky tires that are not drag radials. like R1 road race tires.

you gotta be careful also because it's kinda dangerous...you get guys out there that are cocky with high hp cars on regular radials...someones bound to get hurt or hurt someone or something...just a thought..like keeping it safe around here!!!!

i think it should be strictly street radials, giving no one an edge...

I think it would be fun as hell, even tho id get my ass handed to me every race!!

I wonder if I could drive my dad's fairlane

i can understand wanting to keep it safe..i dont want to see anybody get hurt either...but if a guy is running 10's and he bolts on some street radials..he should know the waters he's swimming in....

Basically i recommend doing some test passes first... if your that guy...

"any approved radial-construction tire with a D.O.T. tread wear rating of 180 or greater that fits all other criteria and sizing."

NMRA does it by tread wear on the tires... Like BFG R1's are Dot road race tires.

I really dont know of any sticky street tires in larger tires that are not drag radials slicks or bias plys....

I guess I would be at about 4 degrees of timing for about 3 seconds with a little shot on a button!!

That is kinda scary

Pepboy's futura's come in pretty big sizes...think i saw 295/50's at least. Rednecks gotta have something big to put on the back of their pickem up trucks and A-Team vans.
I know regular BFG Radial T/A's come in pretty big sizes too.

Really i dont have any idea what cars are capable with REAL RADIALS. So its all up in the air until the first race..
basically, this is the first thing like this around here so.. well will have to see what happens after a couple of weeks with a little help from EVERYONE...id love to see this take off.. but i need some more input to make rules fair for everyone...i wanna see a large group of 11,12,13 second cars racing heads up on radials, but i dont want some one with an 8 sec car to show up... so post up....:bigthumb
