Outside door handle replacement question

I broke the outside door handle on my car the other day. Anybody know if I have to take off the inside door panel in order to fix it ??

I have the replacement door handle, rivets, etc but it didn't come with any instructions...

Usually you do unless the broken piece of the door handle is still atached to the rod.
