you can use the cobra if you want, but unless you want to drop a solid axle in it (or probably just new shocks in the rear), the wheel hop is a killer, gotta pedal it out of the hole and usually on the 1-2. its a 13.90-14.00 machine though lol. we'll be in Georgia.

Just get some drag radials.....traction solves wheel hop although it introduces a higher risk of other issues..... (got half-shafts? :D )

I'm gonna try to make it....I missed every one last year... :(

i don't think D/R's would help, ever had a mustang and not been able to do a burnout in the rain without wheelhop? it is pretty damn low, and has some bounce to it, it needs shocks before anything else.

Last year UMTR had a section reserved just behind and to the left of the concession/tech area. There was "talk" in the off season that this year we were going to get the hill (more paved area to the right of the tech/concession). I guess we won't know until we get there. Hope you can make it!

Man Ricky,,you miss all the fun....no rain at all...At least til thrid round when I lossed...:D .....Had a blast....track wasnt to bad..even for my ol street greasers...heck I had my best time to date in the 1/4....hittin the brakes on top end....13.35 @ 103...congrats to the younin who whooped up on me...:bigthumb ...killed me at the tree.....Of course I haven't cut a decent light to date with the stick....But hey,,meet a few more really cool guys..and looked at some really nice stangs....just 2 much fun...Guess I gonna have to join the UMTR ....and buy some slicks ...still.....:D and do alot of work to the stang to get it hookin....

Amanda and I had a good time. It got me in the mood to race, seeing the girls at it! I haven't raced in two years, but I'm ready to break da coupe out sometime this summer.

Kathy - it was nice to meet you. Dave - thanks for the stickers! I gave ONE of the new ones away and spotted it on a truck when we were leaving. ;)

It was great seeing Brian (92Coupe) out for the first time with the new motor, it may be running rich but still he took it to the semi finals.

Yeah i still have some tweaking and tuning to do but for just having it running a couple days, Hell i'm not complaining. Maybe next time i'll launch it a little higher then 2500 rpm's

what was you trapping bryan? ... did you get craigs victor jr. heads with the shortblock, or did you use something else? ... im still mad i didnt go, damn weather channel had me scared to leave ... we were sitting there looking at the radar thinking there was no way in hell it was going to stay dry ... well we were wrong ...

Ricky i got a new set ot 5.8 edlbrock 190 performers. i didnt give it all out hell with most everything being new other than the shortblock or trans, I have to get the front end aligned and do a bunch of tweaking and tuning. I basically just went to get some seat time and see how the suspension worked out.

I ran fastest trap 110 @ 12.78 on a 12.75 dial in letting out about 100 ft from end.

Once i get used to it and get all the bugs worked out i'm quite sure it will run low 12's high 11's motor and mid high 10's spray

ok ... yeah you should hit an easy high 11 with the stroker ... 110 is good letting out early ... takes a while to get the bugs out ... i spent half of last year getting the traction issues solved - netting good mphs (117) but the time sucked ... takes a little time, but you will work it out ... :bigthumb

First, I had to lighten some of these shots up. April done a pretty good job with this crazy camera. All of the photos are High Res (10.1mp) and 3-7meg, of course resized for photo-bucket. $20 to run UMTR Street Stick. New rule this year, no more T&T before your 2 qualifying runs. Last year if you got there early enough you could sneak in a couple of passes before-hand. Not anymore :(

Sounds good. I'll just try to get to edgewater at 5:15 on friday so I'm the first one in there to run, so I can actually make a couple passes, and get my dail in time.

As I understood it, it was always a track rule, but the "UMTR powers that be" just let us get away with ignoring it, until they were told specifically this year that we couldn't.
