that is the swap im wanting to do when my engine shits out. They normally put the 4 cylinders found in bread trucks (4BT's) but i havent heard good things about them off road. Obviously that one is an exception...

I've always wondered why you don't see more diesels in offroading....gobs of torque...seemed like common sense in a way.

They are too heavy... it puts way too much weight over the front axle.

they bog out or something on hills is what i heard....besides weighing as much as the entire jeep

ive got two complete drivetrains,2000 with a ats auto tranny and a 05 with a six speed with matching axles for both when you are ready.
