Well, the Gumball and other cross country/continent rallys are something I've been following as a giddy little fan for a couple years now. It's something I would love to do if I wasn't so broke, but this might change the way these rallys are done now, if at all.

Issued by Maximillion Cooper on behalf of The Gumball 3000 Rally - 21.30 / 03 May 2007

Following our earlier release reporting yesterday’s accident - As a sign of respect we have decided that this year's Gumball 3000 Rally will not travel any further and will end in Bratislava this evening, May 3rd 2007.

As the organisers of the rally we feel that it should be stopped as a mark of respect to Vladimir Cepulyoski who died today after an accident involving one the participating drivers.

We are very saddened by what has happened and feel that it would be wrong to continue. On behalf of Gumball 3000, we once again extend our deepest sympathies to his family and we are doing everything we can for them.

This is the first time anything like this has happened in 9 years of travelling through over 40 countries with 1000's of drivers and it is with deep regret that I make this announcement.

British national Nicholas Morley, who drove the "Porsche" involved in Wednesday's traffic accident near border crossing Kjafasan has been arrested and handed over to the Basic Public Prosecution and an investigative judge. He has been charged with grave acts against traffic security and lack of aid provision to an injured individual, stated Ministry of Interior Spokesman Ivo Kotevski.

The traffic accident occurred at road Struga-Kjafasan, when the "Porsche" crossed to the other lane with great speed, hitting a "Volkswagen Golf" with Ohrid register plates.

The accident resulted in the death of the "Golf" driver Vladimir Capunoski (67), while his wife Margarita is fighting for her life in Skopje's Clinical Center.

Following the accident, the British national left the vehicle at the site and headed for the border crossing. During a police control of all vehicles, the driver and his co-driver were found in a "BMW" with Russian register plates.

So you've been a fan of rich assholes street racing across a whole continent?

I mean, it's fun in the movies and all, but sucks when said asshole parks his Porsche in your lap as you drive home from work.

Well said.

A bunch of dildos stroking their egos by driving like asses and breaking every traffic law in the book. I hope they throw these two dipshits in jail for a long time.

Is that what I said? No, I'm not a fan of rich assholes street racing. I do however enjoy the videos and pictures that come from these rallies, as much as anyone would.
