Ok i tore my engine down and installed a cam and headers. Car has a 4:10 gear, 24 lb injectors, upper and lower control arms and subframe connectors. My question is what should i do now?!?

Tryn to mod but have no idea what i should get next. Its an Aode so maybe a shift kit or something?!? what would you guys do?

a converter would make it quicker, heads would help in the power department.

For Aod's everyone has had real good luck and service with EDGE converters.

Converter and shift kit would be nice but I enjoyed my old GT more when I tossed the AOD and put a T-5 in it. I like gt40P heads and explorer/cobra intake for a low buck Big smile.

Fst is right, skip the box upper. Actually, I'd say skip that intake setup all together. Pick up an explorer intake and dont look back. They can be had for 150.00 all day long. Timido is right about the 5speed, however, Ibstrokin has a pretty stock daily driven mustang with an art car aod and converter, and I absolutely love the way it drives. I think the converter and valve body is what really makes the difference and completely changes the feel of the transmission.

Make sure you get the correct parts for a 94/95 car. You will need one of two setups to make a 5 speed work on it.

1. 94/95 t-5 (you can buy a 87-93 one and change the input shaft) and a 94/95 bell housing. (they are 5/8 deeper than a 87-93 one). You can run the stock 87-95 drive shaft.

2. fox 87-93 t-5 and matching bell housing. This set up requires either a custom driveshaft (5/8" longer) or a 5/8" spacer (on the rear end) to run a stock driveshaft.


I agree with the guys suggesting that you NOT use a box upper. They are designed to only make power in the upper rpms and usually really suck down low.

Your best bet is try to find a T5 and bellhousing out of a 94-95. Try corral and stangnet, probably wont have a ton of luck with a junk yard but wouldnt hurt to call.

Cincy speed has them. I actually had my driveshaft lengthed, and it was about $150. I think those spacers are less than $50.

If you find the 94/95 stuff, keep in mind the clutch fork is different than a fox also.

Whichever is cheaper... look around for deals on the internet/junk yards.

im just confused on the fork now since theres a diffrence. Im guessing i will have to get the fork compatible with the select tranny for ex sn fork for sn tranny and fox for for fox tranny correct.

The 94/95 bell houseing is 5/8" deeper than a fox one and the clutch fork is just a different design. The only thing the 94/95 stuff will do for you is put the shifter 5/8" farther away from the dash. It is no big deal if you are running a fox setup with a aftermarket shifter. I run a tremec 3550 with a b&m shifter with no issues.

I suggest getting all fox stuff and then just get a spacer for the driveshaft. Those parts will be easier to find for a good price.
