I was talking to a buddy at work and he was telling me that he wanted to get a deisel truck, But he was waiting til next year because ford obtained the right to put cummings engines in their trucks. Is this true or is he just spewing shit out of his mouth?

I guess I don't know either way, but if that's the case, why would Ford have spent that much money on the 6.4L powerstroke? Wouldn't make much sense to spend the millions of dollars developing it if it's only going to be around for 1 or 2 model years.

Last I heard they were talking but I don't think it will because of Dodge still carrying the Cummins.

First of all, it is Cummins... not CumminGs.

Ford does NOT own Cummins...

Ford has had Cummins engines in there medium duty trucks for a while. Dodge, however, will probably never give up the rights to Cummins. Ford has had issues with International as of late, but I don't think they will be putting a Cummins in there light trucks.

Ford owns stock in Cummins...thats about it.

And dont buy a new diesel!

I cant stress that enough!!!

If you want a new truck with a diesel find a cream puff a year old or something.

The new emission laws on diesels are straight murder! Its gonna take a while for the performance industry to make up for what the EPA is putting on these things!

I've heard people out here saying that dealers are making them sign waivers on the 08 models, saying that if they try to mod them in any way, the warranty is 100% voided.

Ford doesn NOT own cummins. They own some of the stock last time I checked but nowhere near 51%.

I like my 95 dodge cummins, but I would lOVE it if I could get it swapped into a ford truck.

My dad has owned a Ford Diesel since the time I was 5 years old.

The rumor of Ford putting a Cummins diesel in their trucks, has been around even longer.

ive seen pics of the prototype f-150 diesel, it was in 09 i believe its supposed to be released, been a while since i read about it, this new 6.4 litre is a arse kicker and hands down would run a duramax or cummins down. Just my .02, They are all good running trucks when taken care of people have their preferences.
