My brother has a 90 LX with a 306 with the Twisted Wedge package(cam, heads intake). Okay here's the deal when he bought the car it had the regular stock heads on it so he bought the Twisted heads to go with everything else. Apparently the previous owner had removed the TFS heads for some reason. My brother pretty much can't get his pushrod length right and ended up breaking the #4 stud off Sunday. You can see where the stud was hitting the back of the rocker. He was using 7" pushrods. :HYF: Way too long. So my question is this: shouldn't he be able to use the same pushrods that were in the car considering the cam is the same? I'm thinking that would be right unless the pedastal area is higher on TFS heads? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, TFS heads take different pushrod. They have the part # for them listed on their website. And yes it is because the head geometry is way different. It looks like they use 6.7" ones in their top end kits.

I would definately use a pushrod length tool to make sure of the exact length that you need. I just put on some Dart Pro 1 heads with comp cam roller rockers and they took pushrods that are about .25 longer than stock.

Yeah he has one but is having problems figuring it out apparently. I'm going to it for him this time.

There are several links to instructions where you use that adjustable pushrod and a sharpy marker. Let me know if you need the link, and I will look it up.
