What is a good product to polish up my Holley upper? I'm not interested in paying $500 or more to take it somewhere. I want a nice clean look.

If the holley is the factory as cast finish and you want a smooth polished aluminum look.......You will spend a considerable amount of time and work getting it smooth.

Holley's as cast finish is pretty rough once you get the powder coating off it.

Polishing is the easy part. Sanding the surface smooth so the polish job looks good is the hard part.

get a hold of chris (plated) he will tell you step for step ... his looks great ...

Unfortunately i can't help much....i've tried polishing different things and it's just too damn much work to keep my attention.


I will say though, there's a guy over on Stang.Net who is a polishing madman. Here's a pic of his engine bay, which he polished everything himself. Pretty much everything you see is stock, except for the obvious like the pullies.

Yeah I have seen that guys work. That is just nuts. I don't want that much shine though...I'm going to start on the intake this weekend...I'm looking for a really nice clean look with just a little shine...

St. Bernard polishing/plating has done some less complicated stuff for me. Big Nissan DOHC/SR20 valve cover was 60-80 bux.

Took an intake manifold that they couldnt do to Dan's custom polishing in covington, KY. Spent $120-150. I have a bad memory of exact price paid.

I did the dist and mounts myself and it wasnt worth it.
