I have a set of black chrome 18x9 mach1 wheels and they have 265/35/18 all around. I'm wanting a wider tire for the rears but I really dont know how much wider i can go! Could I do a 285 and or 295 on an 18x9 wheel and also would I go with 35's or 40 series tire??? If anyone could help with info, I be thankful Thanks Mike

On my stang I run 265/35R18 in the front and 285/35R18 in the back but my wheels are 9's in the front and 10's in the rear. If you find a tire you like go to there website to find approved rim sizes for you tires.

Just wonderin do you have 18x9 on the rears??? And if so could ya post up a pic of the rears with your 295s. I have been wanting 295's on the rears but I did not know if they hung over to much or not. Thanks Mike

The Widest tire I would go on a 9" rim would be a 275 width. You can run a larger size tire but I am pretty sure you will have a slight tire buldge which would in turn lead to uneven wear and a few other issue.... As far as the rear goes, I think you can run all the way up to a 305 without having to play with the fenders, its just that you'll be limited as to the size of your rim and what you really want it to look like back there.
