Some people are way to impulsive. This is all because of Billy and his freakin Xbox360 shortage that caused stupid prices for xmas toys over 2 years ago. I hate manufacturers who do that. Now people think that getting it first will command a premium on ebay.
Ford is doing the same danged thing with the shelby's.
Stand strong folks@!

It's not Ford or MS, it's just supply and demand.
Ford sells every Shelby for the same price, the dealers charge however much they can get for them. 03 Cobras started out well over MSRP and by the end, there were rebates on them. They built very few 04's for that reason. 04's were rebated too. Ford doesn't want to rebate something like a Cobra, they shouldn't have to. So they make less cars next time around. If they had to do the GT500 again, they'd probably have built more GT500's now that they know people will indeed pay 50K for a Mustang. How many people though? That's where it's tough.. 10,000 or 20,000? How many people are willing to buy and insure a GT500? Ford guessed about 14,000, they were a bit short on supply this year. They'll probably have a hard time selling another 14,000 next year though I bet. They guys who just had to have it, either have it now or soon will.
I paid an extra $50 for my 360 so I could play it over the holidays. I had 2 weeks off work and nothing to do, so an extra $50 was worth it to me. I demanded an Xbox and the market coughed it up for a $50 fee. I had no problems with it. Yea, I could have waited, but I enjoyed using it over those 2 weeks and that itself was worth $50 to me.

the funny thing is that there were still phones available in a lot of Apple Stores after this weekend despite selling 500,000. It seems like Apple did a better job than MS or Sony at anticipating the demand.

It seems that a number of people are still trying to sell them for a profit on egay and theres people bidding. Nothing like the PS3/XBOX deal a couple years ago, but still pretty unreal.

I heard they had 2 million of them ready to go at launch. Kinda weak only selling a half million, really. That's a lot of product sitting around.

Well I guess it's not that bad then. They'll probably sell a bunch on the 4th if the stores are open.
