I am going to get a shifter for the 01, anybody have any experience with the MGW shifter? If not what do you recommend?

I just installed one a couple of weekd ago to replace my UPR. I haven't really driven it much since then but my initial impressions are good. Its a little smoother and a lot quieter than the UPR.

When I used to work at the carwash in sharonville, a guy would always come through with an 03 cobra, and he had one, and it was the best feeling shifter I've ever felt. If I ever buy another shifter, it will be an MGW. Also, over on svtperformance.com, there is a guy who sells these shifter gaskets for $5 that is really supposed to make things quiet.

I have the gasket as well. That was kind of a pain to install.

I got one. They are the most quiet aftermarket shifter, by far.

I got it today and installed it, and I love it. It has such a short throw and it just pops into third with no effort at all. :bigthumb

The gaskets aren't worth the $5. They are such a pita to install and there was really no difference in sound levels. Just get some quality silicone gasket maker and use it correctly.

I agree with that. Don't bother with the gasket.

I bought a gasket but the shifter got here first and I installed it with RTV. It is quiet as it is so the gasket will probably never get used.:D
