how the heck does the rear seat come out?

how the heck does the rear folding seat come out of an 88 hatch? i got the two bolts and the screws under the carpet but it still attached to the sides?

where you located and the seat comes out by pushing in the middle push it back then pull it up i never had to take any screws or bolts out and you talking about the part you sit on or the back part

Its a PITA, but you have to get behind the platic on the sides. There are brackets there the rods go into, you can either cut a slit in the plastic and slide it out or wrestle with it and unbolt them. I chose the first when I pulled mine out.
