I WENT TO A PARTY
And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom
So I had a sprite instead.

I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.

I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right,
The party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of sight.

I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming, Mom
Something I expected least.

Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mom, his voice seems far away.

My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.

I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.

So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.

Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave,
And when I go to heaven,
Put Daddy's Girl on my grave.

Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.

I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die.
And I wish that I could tell you,
I love you and Goodbye.

Got that off Myspace.:(

Craig went emo on Myspace.........exhaust gasses from the dyno getting to his brain.

Craig your not innocent either about the events you've listed before here.

I'm not perfect either...I regret last weekend......because the fact I could have ruined lives....not counting my own family.

Step 1: Denial

People sometimes change and learn from their mistakes.... keep that in mind.
We all have made stupid choices at one point or another in our lives.
I remember driving Craig around a few times because he made the right choice.

You would be surprised how big this problem is.... and it is frustating all the loop wholes and ways people try to get out of it.

That little poem has been running around the internet since it started I think! It does amaze me how many people I know that drive "buzzed." Buzzed is drunk! My sister was in a nasty accident a couple of years back with a drunk driver running a red light. Totaled her car and shook her up pretty badly. I drunk drove a few times from O'Charleys to my old house(about 5 minutes - not that that makes a difference) back when I was 19 but stopped after that. Everybody always thinks they have better control than they do but at the end of the day your reaction to situation is hugely affected by your alcohol consumption. Get a designated driver guys! :bigthumb

It hits home with me I lost my best friend since grade school and 2 other friends in one accident , the front passenger was sober but the driver would not let him drive his new car Easter every year reminds me of that horrible night, lives can be cut short by making a simple misjudgement hell Kristin and I pick friends up all the time it is not worth it and it is cheaper to drink at home :(

That Poem is great. Lives can be shattered in an instant. Most of us drive performance cars on on here, and that makes us generally more safety minded than the masses. Maximus is just reminding us to consider the consequences, like Silver Bullet pointed out, before getting behind the wheel.
Hats off to you Maximus, and to Craigels, the DD at the Farm Party!
Had fun shooting and talking with 'ya Mista Bone!
Long may you Run!

I hope none of you ever have to go tell someones family that they have had a member killed in a car accident like such..... it is a very sad experience...

Then you see people tell you that is is no big deal that they are 3 times the legal limit....... you just want to.... well I'm not going to go there.:(
