That stuff is neat as hell but what kind of practical everyday application could you use it in?

Imagine that all of the glass in your car had a combined weight of 2 oz. What if body panels were made of very thin aerogel. What if interior parts were made of this stuff?

Can you imagine keeping everything on your car and replacing them with aerogel, and still lose 500 pounds?

How cool would that be? The price has to come down before it is practical for the average Joe to use it. Carbon fiber started out the same way. Now it's everywhere.

(In the tone of a movie trailer narrator) "Coming soon to a speed shop near you." :lol:

hood fenders doors and trunk lid would be nice..... :-) to bad it would cost about 100 grand lol
