On a 2001 Saleen with a stock style roots blower with 380 hp. what would it take and how much would you estimate that it will cost to turn it into 450 rwhp? Pistons, cams, methanol injection etc... Thanks for any input in advance!

Port the blower, plenum, larger throttle body, MAF, smaller pulley, add water to air intercooler if not already there and if it is make it bigger. That should get you there or real close, beyond that would be CAI, Exhaust, and for sure a TUNE.

Better yet add an aftermarket blower (KBell)

The bottom end is stock GT. I was thinking of forged pistons and rods and cams with sct tune by Ken B. What do ya think?

If you are planning more than 8psi, stronger pistons, rods and crank would certainly seem like a good idea.

The crank at 450 whp would be overkill but is that roots style blower and stock fuel system capable?

you may need to bump up to twin GT fule pump setup or at least an 03 cobra take off set. Talk to Steigmier about the blower.

The way to make power with a roots blower is to pulley it down and reduce the inlet tract restrictions. Exhaust is not a big deal.

What kind of blower is that, isn't it a baby twin screw? Or was that their later blowers?

Looks to be a baby blower but motor is gt. Not strong

Thats 500 rwhp on a built block, I would flirt with anything over 425-450 at the wheels on a stock gt bottom end.

You have two options that I would consider.

One is to just get it done with and put a whipple on it, maybe put 10 lbs to it, with better fuel pumps, 60 lb injectors, maf, cai, throttle body. Then the sky is the limit if later on you decide to go with a built block.

Or you can spend just about as much money on porting your blower with steig, getting a pulley, fuel pumps, injectors, cai, maf, throttle body, exhaust, cams, tuning, and you still may be short of your number.

Question is, what kind of money do you have, and do you want to do it right the first time. These eatons are horribly inefficient and create way too much heat, and cut back on power, even ported.
