As far as I know it doesnt mean much of anything to us. I believe its just a factory casting mark. Ive heard that either the XXX or YYY is suposed to be a stronger block but Ive never seen anyone with authority mention it. Kind of like the old myth that cars with a black dot in the 5.0 emblem were supposedly quicker than the ones with a red dot.

ok i was wondering if it was stronger, thicker walls, a roller or whatever.

i have 2 with the xxx. one from a tbird and the other out of a stang and i have a yyy that came out of a lincoln mkvII. all three are h.o.s with the 351 firing order. maybe the yyy is casting for mercury??? I would like to no whats up with it myself

Just a casting mark and I believe the XXX are all roller blocks.
