If somebody waves you across a lane of traffic,DON"T DO IT!! I did this morning in the Pony. Now its smashed !! I typically don't go if someone waves me on .But thinkin I was close to a light and there TYPICALLY isn't no one ever in that lane,WRONG! Was going to get gas in it And take Jen for a nice drive in the country. Oh well nobody got hurt and cars can be fixed. Just a fuckin shitty way to start the day.:(:(:(:(

Wow....that's exactly why my Bronco is totaled....i was driving down 125 (2 lanes in both directions) and the curb lane had stopped to let someone out and i couldn't see that far up ahead, and i was driving along with no traffic in front of me and out of nowhere came a minivan out from between 2 cars and i didn't even have time to react..i just plowed right into the side of it. He drove away but i know the van probably got totaled too and my Bronco was obliterated.

Since that day i no longer let people out unless they're turning right and going with the flow of traffic with me and i don't trust anyone to wave me out. How bad is the car?

Shoved the front end over a few inches the nose is scrap, and I'm gonna need a couple of fenders.

Ouch...that's a crappy place to get hit. Make sure the doghouse isn't pushed over too. There's a '79 nose piece in the classifieds...

I might be able to provide fenders to help the 4-eyed cause.

Edit-Damn, I clicked on your site to see what kind of nose, and man what a beautiful car.....I love that car. Every Cruise-in I am enamored!! I would love to find chrome window trim for my 86, as it looks awesome on dark cars. Post up a parts list when you get time for the rebuild. I will try to help with as much as I can.

You could do what I am doing with my 81. Build it with a mass air 5.0. Bring it up to date with that old school look.

I was waved out into a lane by a fire fighter. well long story short. the cops at UT told me that if i was not at fault, and nor was the other car. but the fire fighter that told me i could go. he had to pay for the hole thing. because he waved me to go, it was all but in his hands. I was not mad and i didn't blame him. but he did get a ticket.

But sorry to hear about your 4 eye.

Yea,the person who waves you into traffic is at fault. Its a Law.I just cant remember what they call it when they write you the ticket.

R825OH
10-29-2007, 12:06 PM
I'll have to check into that, because I got the license plate# before he sped away from the accident.

theyallslow
10-29-2007, 12:10 PM
he should have stayed. you may be safe yet and they may have to fix it.

facemelter71
10-29-2007, 12:11 PM
Id get ahold of the fella cuz hes the reason for the accident. Is it on the police report that some one waved you out?And he sped away from it cuz hes at fault.

R825OH

I gotta find that law, and then I'm gonna find that van!

R825OH
10-29-2007, 03:04 PM
Checked w/ ins. co. and they said no law in Ohio for it , I'm screwed ohh well story of my life.....

10-29-2007, 03:15 PM
I dont think that it is a law. i think that you were given right of way and hit. I think you should ask an attorney.

facemelter71
10-29-2007, 04:50 PM
Id ask else where,im pretty sure that some else is at fault. But let me know if you need help gettin some stuff together.

85_SS_302_Coupe
10-29-2007, 07:03 PM
I said the same thing to the officer who showed up when i hit the guy in my Bronco. He even said then that he wished there was a law against it...so i don't think you'll have any luck there. If you took him to court they would just say you ultimately decided to come out.

I was going past Hooters Sunday and I looked over and saw Moony and a few others in the parking lot for that cruise-in, I went to beep my horn (haven't beeped the horn much in my new car so I was trying to figure out where I was supposed to hit the steering wheel) and I veered in the other lane, car was coming. I caught it in time, but I thought "I bet Scott and them are laughing at me right now".
