I just wanted to show a pic of my futura 165s. I admit these have been on the car for a long time and I really knew better, but this is what happened to mine. I don't know exactly when it happened, but I noticed a bad vibration in the front at the race track the other day and Shannon said he could see it watching the car go down the track. It really felt like a busted strut. I guess a belt busted. I broke down and ordered a set of the MT SR radials, it hurts to pay 5x the amount of the 165s:lol:, but they are all but discontinued anyway. I got lucky that these things didn't let go on the track. If you are running them at least check them out often, these looked fine last time I had them off which wasn't that long ago.

Dang...I bet that felt nice at 120+. No wonder I could see it at lower speeds.

That's not too much of a surprise. A friend of mine had them mount brand new ones on the front of his car once and the very same day they blew out some belts on one side and he was just driving around Eastgate.

Wow... thats crazy, but typical, I used to sell those things....

Yeah I use to sell them too and thats why it makes me nervous to use them as street tires especially since I have a few extra pounds under the hood. I thought alot lately about ditching the big and littles and just putting a set of 17's or 18's on the car.

Those have been on the car for probably 5-7 years. When I got them nobody made a skinny radial like the Hoosiers and MT that are available now. They were due for replacement anyway.

Ive had decent luck with them. I ran over a brake booster and master on the hiway at 70 mph. It bent the rim to hell but the tire was still good. I ran it for another season before getting a new pair. Im sure the pait on there now are due for replacement as well. Im glad you didnt find this out in a worse situation.
