Quick question, do stamped steel valve covers dampen or quiet valve train noise better then Aluminum?

Im looking for a valve cover to quiet my noisy rockers. I can't seem to get a definitive answer on this topic.

I read somewhere that the stock valve covers on the 94 95 GTs were a sandwich type with two layers of steel and sound deadening material in between. Any truth to this?

By the way, im running 1.6 RR and a 3/8s phenolic spacer between upper and lower.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

The 94-95 is simply a stamped valve cover. Nothing special about it.

I would guess that aluminum would do better since it's thicker...have you ever tapped/banged on a steel trash can? It amplifies the sound a lot. Also personally i've never had a set of stamped covers that would seal worth a crap. It always seemed like they warped or something and always leaked in the corners. I think it's a lot easier to over tighten them as well (in case you don't have good gaskets that prevent over tightening).
