trans issue

Hey I have an 89 gt and every once and a while when I am in first gear and I go to take off it pops out of gear, what could cause this? Is something major about to happen? Lol thanks guys

Probably wear in the pads/springs/slider in the 1-2 syncro. It could also be loose endplay on the inputshaft. Probably getting old and needing freshed up. You know when it is expensive it goes crash boom bam grind.

hahah ya that happened on my old one. come to think of it their is alot of play even when the shifter is in gear.. hmmm good thing winter is on its way, she gets to go to sleep for the season soon :(
