Call the corporate hotline, I am pretty sure that there is a minimum to how many hours you can be scheduled at Advanced Auto

Is this caused by some beef between you and the manager? There are plenty of ways to "push" someone toward the door, could this be why your hours have changed?

well I'm sure a manager won't put his best empolyee on the schedule for only one hour. Maybe that should be an eye opener for you. Just throwing that out there, not sure if it applies in your situation.

They used to do that to people when I worked at the grocery store, I don't think anyone bothered to work the one hour and quit.

I was a parts driver... i was better at what i did than any of the others... i did not want to go on counter as i had done that for a few years at a prior job.... The manager is a dick plain and simple, didnt even have the guts to ever come up to me and even confront me about what was going on... the story he gave us all was that there were to be 30 hours of commercial side cut... and i had heard from another manager that works there that he had told me the DM called him and said "whats going on? there is about 25 hours floating around not being used"... he had got that call twice... you tell me whats going on... The store manager has been having personal issues amongst other things and he is taking it out on everyone in the store...

OH by the way, im not the only employee to get thier hours cut.... all the drivers got their hours cut... but since im the newest and lowest on the totem pole they are trying to get me outta there first...

Man that just sucks. The advance I buy parts from can't keep drivers and it takes forever to get parts from them. It used to be much better. Good luck with whichever way you decide to go.

Maybe we should roll over by the front doors at Advance and do a 3 minute 2nd gear burnout and fling some melted rubber on their glass windows!

From Experience, Advance treats their employees like utter shit. Not just Store managers, but it trickles down, from the top, they are treated like shit, so it just follows the chain of command down. At least its that way around here. Advance can't seem to keep anyone for any amount of time. There is only one store close that keeps employees very long.

Stangman, you'll be back in the saddle before you know it dude. Remember, "you can't keep a good man down", and there are opportunities out there fitted to your skills which you haven't even dreamed of. Before you know it, the two of you will meet.:coo1:

worst thing you did is quit, no way to draw unemployment (if you had enough hours)......I'd still call corporate and bitch, nicely!

Smyth/Parts Plus is always looking for drivers, quite a drive in on 32 though.

I'm gonna try to get on at the Milford Rt 28 location, since my current courier route starts two doors up at 6:30. It won't pay crap, maybe $8 an hour, but better than nothing!

I didn't know it was you at the time, but you got me the right part when the other guy there couldn't.

The other guy had to order the rear tranny seal for my truck and it ended up being for the transfer case.

Turns out it was always in stock and you took the time to figure out what the right part was. :bigthumb:

I like the driving, never did parts to businesses. I did drive for Performance Honda for a short time, make a daily run to Troy Ohio to pick up midday small parts orders.

Normally I was back by 3pm so I missed the Dayton traffic, paid $40 a day (5 hours @ $8) CASH....it was easy.
