Yeah, that's right...you know where I am going with this.

I bought that nice Boss Inc hood from Craig a long time ago and bolted it up on the coupe, didn't pin it because they can be a PITA sometimes. But I am wishing I had, I got a fucked up cowl and broken hood now. The windshield and the roof were lucky I suppose, but now I am stuck looking at red coupe with a bugandy hood...

And now for the pics...:(

So umm...I already talked to Kev about this...but how bad is it to fix? I have the parts car I am probably going to cut the cowl panel out of if needed.

I have had this happen before. Jesse (the_stangman) did a great job fixing it, he just pulled it out and used bondo. It looked pretty good. Sorry to hear that it happened to you.

I had tears in my eyes on the way home. That poor little car! Put the black hood back on it or come get the original red one.

You have no idea how pissed I am still. This happened on my way home from work and it is almost 8, I am still seeing red. Thanks Kenny....but the other one isn't broken, and this one I should be able to fix and get back on the car.

Did you not have it latched down all the way, or did it break loose or what? That's messed up.

I really can't tell to be honest. I sprayed the engine down today, but I am sure I latched it.

alot of times to hood release cable will get sticky over the years and hold the hood release cable, not letting the hood to latch all the way, push the realese handle in or lubricate the cable? i know it's a little late, maybe it well help someone else?????

Oh man, I feel for you Carl. Take the pics like Chris said. Send the car down here and it will be something to keep your mind occupied while over there. This way you just have to come back cause you would owe Chris money.

Surprisingly, Autozone sells spectre hood pins, that are made of stainless steel, for $9.99. Fortunetly 93hulk helped me put my hood pins on a few months ago. But I've been through the hood incident before, it sucks.

I had a buddy just loose his hood. It also was a Boss. The area where the hood latch is epoxied in came out. Is this what happend to you??? Anyhow he ended up getting 2500.00 from Boss and another 2200.00 from his insurance comp to replace the "aftermarket hood" on his car. Have you contacted Boss concerning this??

Qtrmlerocket and I were taking a test drive in my vert and about 100 feet into the drive the hood flew up and took out the windshield, split the hood into two pieces, and destroyed the cowl. 347antirice and I used my porta power to pull out some of the damage, it looks a lot better, but Plated will get it finished out for me. Just made me sick, there was nothing wrong with the car as far as damage, and now this.
I hate to see it happen to anyone else, sorry yours did this. I know where you're coming from. Plated will get you fixed up. At least your windshield and roof are in good shape.

You'd think people would have learn from that video.........

.......guess not.

But honestly, it is funny when a ricer does it, after you warned him numerous times. Cheap CF hoods for the ricers!

I hate hood pins, but they are pretty much a necessary evil with a glass hood. Sorry about your car.

I agree with Jon. I hate pins but Id rather have a straight cowl and not worry much about the hood flying up.
