i've got a 96 gt that was running just fine on monday then on wed morn i went out and started it up and now it wont stay running unless i keep the rpm's up manually. any ideas where to start looking.

air idle control valve is something to check. What happens when you drive it? Does it surge or anything? Do you have an aftermarket ignition or anything on it?

Most definently sounds like the IAC motor. Very easy to change , two 8mm bolts is all that holds it on and sits right on the plenum.

how much is an IAC? i think i need one too.

sounds like the motor. also check all your vacuum lines while your there.

I had an idling issue in mine when I first got it back together mainly because of the cams. I took the IAC off and sprayed it out with carb cleaner let it dry and popped it back on. I'd try that first before I bought one.

NO AFTERMARKET PARTS AT ALL ,WILL BE CHECKING INTO THAT IAC SAT. TY FOR ADVICE
