alright i just put a new distributor in my 94 cobra today but i cannot get it running right. To put the new distributor in i set no1 cyclinder to TDC on compression stroke then put my distributor in so that the rotor was on no1 cylinder on the cap. ive got the timing set to 12* and the car ran fine with the spout out up until about 5000 rpm then it started missing, but then when i plug my spout back in the car runs bad and misses through out all rpms. any ideas on what im doing wrong???

I think it advances 3 deg. w/the spout installed.

Sounds exactly like the problem I had when I bought my MSD distributor. It would run ok with the spout connector out, a little low on power, but when you put it back in it ran horrible. The MSD dis. was advancing the timing to over 50* with the spout in and initial timing set to 10*. I sent it back and got a different distributor and never had another problem.
