I could really use some help--no start issue

EFI to carb conversion:

I finally finished the H/C/I I had been working on since mid summer. The last couple of days i've been messing with it and no luck starting it at all. I've done all the normal things to check, like making sure the dizzy (HEI) is dropped in right (checked 180 degrees) made sure the rotor is at the #1 plug wire, checked for spark and fuel. I'm at my wits end here.... All it wants to do is pop through the carb and sometimes shoot a flame out the carb as well.

I don't know much about the issue so I can't offer much.
BUT - If I were you, I would double check that your not 180 off on the dizzy and make sure that if your pointed at 1 that your at TDC.

I'm flippin WE TA TED. I've been so careful, taking my time with this build(5 months) and you'd think i'd get the counter-clockwise wiring right on the dizzy but nooooo. (wired 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 clockwise) oops! Fires right up now :lol:
