E-cams have 0.498" lift with 1.6 rockers. With 1.7's you'll have 0.529" lift. If you have aftermarket heads with larger valve's you'll be pushing the piston-to-valve clearance with the 1.7's. With a stock shortblock and stock heads you'll be fine with 1.7's. I'd probably stick with the 1.6's since most aftermarket cams are designed to work with that ratio.

So long as you aren't using 2.02 intake valves (exception being twisted wedge... those are fine to 0.540"), you'll have plenty of clearance with stock pistons, eCam and 1.7 rockers. I would use the 1.7 RRockers.... the extra valve lift is worth some HP.

Just get the B-cam with the 1.7rr's.
You will have .510 valve lift and .004 more duration then the E-cam.As long as its in a 5 speed car your fine.

Personally i don't like 1.7s...if you need more lift, get a different cam.

I would run the 1.7s. That being said, Lift has nothing to do with clearance. Max lift occurs when the piston is half way down the cylinder. Duration is the thing that causes wrecks.
