Well I destroyed my T5 right after getting my car tuned last week. Didnt even get home and I only live about 10 minutes away from Precision-Autosports. So im putting in a PA Supercomp c4 that I bought. It has a brake, sfi bellhousing, and a custom 9" 4000 stall converter. My question is... Do I have to have my driveshaft cut down? and what all else is involved in the swap. Im pretty handy around a mustang, Ive just never done this swap. I cant seem to find much info on it. Thanks in advance. Eddie

Driveshaft is the same you will have to reqire the neutral safety switch or push the clutch everytime you start it. Its a simple swap that will take you an afternoon also be sure to check converter to flexplate spacing if its to far out it will break the front pump.

You can run your nuetral saftey switch wiring through most aftermarket Auto shifter. I think your starter index plate might be different. If it is hang on to the 5spd one I will need it :) Run a good trans cooler. You might have to modify your transmission crossmember by grinding the welds and moving it forward to back a little. Fill your converter with trans fluid first and make sure that the converter is fully seated in the transmission. Like kelly said the Converter spacing (The clearance from where the converter is pulled forward into the flexplate/flyweel) is important so you do not damage the pump. I think it should be about 3/16's of an inch.

There is a pigtail that replaces the nuetral safety switch on a auto, it's basicly a plug with a short on it(one wire loops from one side to the other). then you can either swap the pedals or put the clutch pedal behind the carpet. I used the same d/s when I switched from manual to auto also.

autos are boring, but it will keep your boost up for more power ... i love shifting at the umtr events and the street ... i guess if you're talking about a 9 or low 10 second car, maybe an auto is the best choice ...

Thats what im hoping for. Im hoping for low 10's and maybe 9's but im not going to get my hopes up. Ive had quite a few mustang racers say that if I get my suspension dialed that I shouldnt have a problem dipping in the 9's. Im not going to get my hopes up.
