This actually happened a couple weeks ago, but it took until now to be final. My 2000 GT is gone.

I was driving like an idiot, which is normal for me, but this time I did it with a big old bottle of gatorade in my left hand and the shifter in my right hand. Naturally, when I got ten kinds of sideways nailing second gear, it took me a little longer than normal to straighten the car out since my hands weren't on the steering wheel. (bad move) I was only about a foot and a half out of my lane by the time I got the car under control... Unfortunately, that foot and a half left me ON TOP OF A CONCRETE MEDIAN!!!

You can see the light spots in the concrete where I think the front tire went up on the curb and then the light spot above the drain where I think the rear went up. How humiliating! Last time I did something this stupid behind the wheel was probably fifteen years ago. Oh well, I guess it was due.

There wasn't that much cosmetic damage but it destroyed the bottom of the car. The suspension is fubar and I think the frame may be tweaked. In this picture you can see that the left rear corner of the car is dipped pretty low compared to the right side. I guess I bent her up good!

Moral of the story? Don't be an idiot like me. If you're gonna get squirrelly, don't get cocky about it. Make sure you have at least one hand on the steering wheel!

Thought about that, but then when we got it back on the ground and it was twisted up, I gave up. Now I'm car shopping which is both fun and stressful at the same time.
