painting or dyeing interior parts black

has anyone dyed or painted grey plastic interior parts black? should i paint or die?if i paint what paint is best ?or if dyeing is better what dye should i use??

I've seen good results with the stuff that 5.0 Resto sells, but remember that it's just the top surface that gets the color...once you scratch it you go beyond that and it'll show through...which kinda sucks.
