Has anyone been? Going there for Valentines Day. Nothing says I love you like Canada eh? lol (We want to stay in Canada, not NY)

Just wondering if anyone had any helpful hints or things we gotta do.

Thanks

D.

Do the "Maid of the Mist" and "The behind Niagara Falls Tour". In the latter, you walk through tunnels and go on ledges that are behind the water fall. It's pretty cool.

Also, the Niagara Falls museum is great if you are in to history. Spent about 2 hours there, very, very interesting stuff and it was free....I think.

Be prepared to wait to cross over/back for about an hour if you go through during peak times, if you have a capable GPS, for the last 10 miles in the States, have it route you off the main US/State routes for a much smoother entry.

Over all, its a good time. Oh yea - Be sure to check out the Casinos, I heard they rock. (I was 16 when I went 3 years ago so I missed out :[ )

Been 5 times. Canadian side is a much better stay and more to do. Like stated earlier the museum is very nice. The usual tourist attractions also. I was thinking of heading back up there this summer. Doesnt take that long to drive up either. Have fun and realize the american dollar aint what it used to be in Canada. Check if they have a passport requirement now also.

I've been there several times and the attractions previously mentioned are well worth the time to see but you must go to the "Cave of the Winds" and make sure you go to the Hurricane Deck it puts you 20' from the falls right up under it!!!!!!. And if you like candy on the Canadian side go to Hershey's and sample every chocolate they have!, I'm sure you'll have an awesome time have fun.

Peace :cool2:

I have been before, but it has been a while. I loved it though, very cool! I agree, the Canadian side has a lot more to do than the American side. The Maid of the Mist awesome as was the Cave of the Winds tour under the American Falls. Of course, it may be cold to do those things, but they are so cool. As for places to go outside of the falls, I can't say. But I'm sure you'll find something to do, plenty of options. Have fun guys!!

Are you going up the weekend following Valentine's Day? Katie and I are going to be up there the 17th and 18th.

We're staying at the Mariott Niagara Falls (http://www.niagarafallsmarriott.com/?src=cdntz1). I've never been, but she says its a really cool hotel.

I took my wife before we were married the wek of valentines day 02 and everything was closed and I mean everything drove up to Niagra on the lake (one of the most beautiful spots in the world ) all the shops were closed for the season , there are some cool indoor things but the majority of what you want to do and see is open when the weather is nice

Yeah, that's the same time we are going and we want to stay at the same hotel too. Small world! lol

We already have passports, so we won't need to worry about that and I think we're gonna fly in. I'm so excited! One more place to mark off our list!

I'm sure it will be pretty cold, but...we've been wanting to go for a while and it seems like the right time!
Thanks for all the input!!!!!

In the summer they shine colored lights on the falls at night for some really neat effects. I do not know if they do it in the winter. It is a good light show from the Candian side. My wife and I are talking about going up there this summer to see the falls.

I went this past year in September. We stayed on the Canadian side and it was a pretty good place. It was summer time so we walked everywhere and didnt have to worry about parking or anything.

I highly reccomend the Skylon Tower if you plan on a nice night out to eat. Its expensive but an awesome place.

Make sure you get over to the American Side and see the Cave of the Winds....that was one intense experience!

I won about $40 US at the casinos off of a slot machine. After I blew that all, I quit!

The only gripe I had is that we stayed for six days and by the end you are just bleeding money because everything is sooo expensive.

It's been a few years for us, but it was awesome. The kids loved it too. Maids of the mist ruled !

Good choice, we've been there many times and are going again this summer. You don't HAVE to have a passport, but it will make things a LOT easier if you do.

You'll probably go through Buffalo, NY. Stop at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, this is where Buffalo Wings were invented. Have a plate of the "real thing" and a cool draft - then head for Canada.

You should see the Flower Clock, the Butterfly Conservencey, spend an afternoon in Niagara-On-The Lake. The Spanish Aero Car is worth it. There are several neat winerys, stop and get a bottle. Queenston Heights Park is nice - has a good restuarant too.

LOTS of good restuarants, one of our favorites is "Anticas" on Victoria ave, great Itialian food including pizza.

Niagra Parks Botanical Gardens (where the Butterfly place is) is a nice place to walk around.

There are countless "tourist trap" type places - some fun, most overpriced. One I liked was (I think) called "Alien Adventure" or something like that. Of course, the Casinos if you like to try your luck.

There used to be a good comedy club there, I think it was called "Yuk Yuks".

There are lots more places to see and things to do, these are just some of our favorites, AEY.

That is so frickin' awesome! I love buffalo wings...AND they were created on my birthday!! :) I'm so pumped about seeing the Anchor Bar. I looked it up on Wikipedia and we are soooooooo there! I'm so excited!!!:bigthumb Thanks for all the good info!

We love to travel and there are still so many places we want to go.
I think we are going to try to hit up DC in May. We'd LOVE to go to Rome or Spain in December, but sheesh, that's a lot of $. We want to go to New York too sometime. I think it would be cool to see all fifty states. :)

So far, St. Marteen is our favorite place on earth. We've been there 4 times.

We just wanted to go somewhere quick, we're only going there for 3 days and I HATE to fly too, so I'd have to have some horse tranquilizers to get me to Hawaii!!!
