Anybody and everybody....might even be someones first shot at getting on the list. It's not really an organized event, just a day chosen to get everyone together, have some fun, go fast, and maybe set the bar higher before the tracks close. Bring your Vespa and come-on out!

It looks like your times for the truck run are posted in "Other" not "WW"
We can certainly move it over. It would be good to keep the list updated but the ladies are going to have to start posting their times in here. Get us an updated copy and we'll update the list here.

well i made a few hits this weekend after grtting the trans freshend up and the convertor fixed . also want to thank dirty dog for working late last sat night fixing my convertor . he cut it open and found the prob and fixed it all while i waited for it . so thanks !! now just made a few motor hits but with the covertor fixed went from mid 1. 4s to a 1.34 still yet to jet the car with the new motor :lol: but the time is

Good racing today Jason. The time you guys lined up, Craig unplugged my rpm dial from the 3 step to look at it and ended up plugging it back in the wrong spot and put it in the top end limiter...so the whole way down the track..the 2step wouldn't let him go above 3000rpm's, LMAO! We all laughed about it and got it back going again. We made 4-5 passes today, all but the one was in the 10's. Best for the day was a 10.50 @ 135.8mph with a 1.79 60ft time.

An earlier pass had new best MPH of 97.43 in the 1/8 and 124.36 in the 1/4.

So how far off am I from where I "should" be with that 60', MPH and ET? Considering it's running on 17" drag radials now, stock clutch and IRS, and I'm not powershifting. It dynoed 535 HP at the wheels. With a better clutch, some slicks and some driver mods, do you all think it has 10's in it as it sits?

the dozen list is for participating members, we went through this last year,

it's a combination of forum participation and / or event participation.

i'm not even in a mustang this year, so I am completely unbiased, but when i saw the time posted, and i saw the number of posts, i looked back, less than 10 posts this year other than for sale section, and not participating at events does not earn a spot on the dozen.

Is it a fast car, yes. Was the run witnessed. Yes. But i'm sure there are plenty of guys out there with cars that could make it on the list just with a time.

Either needs to be more forums or even participation, or a slight combo of each, it's just whats fair to the participating members

He lives local, races at local tracks, and has a mustang that is deserving of a spot. I asked Kevin to post his time up, because it's a deserving car, just like I would ask any deserving person to post their time up.

Ultimately, we post our times to motivate ourselves. Chad and I went back and forth alot, him adding spray, me swapping to a c4, in late Oct. or early Nov. two years ago. With Chad in the 13Th spot, he was busting his ass to sort out his spray, that way he could bump Kevin off the legit way, Performance, not politics. Chad and John are busting their asses right now to EARN their way onto the DD. Applaud performance, Period.

IMO, put Kevin back on the list, if you can outrun him, he gets the boot. If not, better luck next yr. Brian

I'm not trying to stir shit, but the problem that I have with removing Kevin (flyin2jz) is that it makes the DD "clicky". True, he didn't post much, and yes he is a friend of mine, but, he's been a member for 3 yrs, and does have over 100 posts. He lives local, races at local tracks, and has a mustang that is deserving of a spot. I asked Kevin to post his time up, because it's a deserving car, just like I would ask any deserving person to post their time up.

Ultimately, we post our times to motivate ourselves. Chad and I went back and forth alot, him adding spray, me swapping to a c4, in late Oct. or early Nov. two years ago. With Chad in the 13Th spot, he was busting his ass to sort out his spray, that way he could bump Kevin off the legit way, Performance, not politics. i'm hoping to get there this weekend, been working out the bugs with the s/c install, had an electrical bug that was playing havic with the tps and causing the tranny to flare, ken unplugged all elec connections under the hood the other day and it just disappeared lol

Well Kevin your car is certainly stout enough to be on the DD and a lot of people would love to have a car that they can hop in, pull out of their garage drive to the track and bust off a "10" without changing tires and then drive back home.

It all boils down to the rules that Vinny implemented from the very first running of the DD which cannot be denied, come on down to Edgewater this Saturday and show 'em what you got as has been previously stated............you can do it man! :bigthumb

Buddy if I was in charge, I would say that you definately belong on the list. You work just as hard as anyone to make your car run as good as it does and put all the effort you can into making it to the track and to hang out with everyone. Unlike alot of people here, I completely understand that you have a family and sometimes you can make it to the track (get togethers) and sometimes you cant. I pretty much just stay out of this thread because of all the arguing i've done in the past about my car being on there. My car gets drove/streetraced more than most cars on the list, but since Craig is usually the pilot of it at the racetrack, my cars times doesn't count. The list is supposed to be the 12 fastest streetcars in the area belonging to participating members, but it's not. I'm at the track almost every weekend, I try to make it to every stangbanger event I can, and hang out with all kinds of different members on here. I paid and worked for every single part on my car and it has tags and everything, but just because I hate racing at the track and let Craig race it, the times aren't worthy. It's BS and I'd rather just stay out of it than to hear everyone cry about it. At the end of the year I take a look at the list and see where I SHOULD be and just laugh and go on about my business. Yeah I dont get a fancy sticker or anything, but at the end of the day after all the dust settles, I know where I stand with everyone else and know who all i've been faster than. With all that being said..I'm done in this thread. Goodluck everyone!

Well maybe I am reading into this too deep. I guess this is partially my fault because I am one of the 11 second cars on the list. Or from the one statement anyways it appears that way. Give me a break like my car is going to stay on the list after tomorrow. Hell no it isn't. I still have plans to run until Thanksgiving and try to put it into the 10's. The car is making more than enough power to put it there. Unfortunately I have a stock T5 that the 1-2 rev slider synchro assembly is history. It either goes into 2nd gear or it doesn't. I as well as some other people drive my car everyday of the week. I drive 119 miles round trip to work in it everyday unless their is snow on the roads. I drive it rain or shine and their is plenty of stangbangerz that will vouch for that. Still have full interior and heat and everything. No Tube K or battery in the trunk or none of that crap. Just a 3400LB fox body.I drive it an 1 1/2 hours to E20 and Tristate on the weekends as well. I know last year alone I put 41,000 miles on the car. I agree with you flyin2JZ I think you should be on there as well but I have no say so in the matter. I dont think the fact that you aren't on the list gives you any reason to point fingers at me and my slow ass 11.32 ET though.

ian used to drive my car 99 faster .7 faster than i could when the stick was in it. 10.8's to my 11.5's, what did i claim my time to be 11.5's

once i converted to the auto and got it down to 10.5's i never let him touch it again,

the track is the safest most controlled environment to race your car,

it's all what you want to do, but i personally won't claim the time,

all ya gotta do is make 1 pass in it, it's your car

the rules do state that it has to be your car,

the problem you have, does the driver then get to claim the time, or the racer, etc...

just trying to keep it as simple as possible

i agree there that some of the cars aren't really street cars, much less daily drivers. a daily driver to me is much more impressive.

jimmy's car impresses the hell outta me, an 8 sec car that is truly street driven

once you get an 11 sec daily driver, to me thats impressive, i'm hoping to get into the 10's on sunday, with a car that gets 26mph hwy and is truly a daily driver

unfortunately, its not a mustang right now, but i'll still be happy with it none the less

i bumped myself off the list last year from the #12 spot under this same situation. 2 cars, 1 belonged 1 didn't , ultimately i got bumped down because of what we decided was a participating member

now, i went back again and looked at the threads, time to look for stuff to sell and buy, time to post in the dozen thread,

but time to post in maybe 1 thread per month other than that, i work 65-70 hrs per week, raise 4 kids, and have no time, but i make time to come on here if only for a minute or 2,

No Rob not at all. Flyin2jz had posted up well there you have it 11 sec cars on the dozen because they attended a get together. Well that would be me sitting in 12th and Derrick sitting in 11th. So I guess in a nutshell what he is saying is if he was still on the list I wouldn't be which is true. But thats beyond my control and why that statement was even neccesary I dont know. As far as I am concerned the cars up on the list are the cars up on the list. Rather they are 8,9,10,11,12,13 second cars or even slower I cant help that. There's nothing in the rules that says you must run this ET to make the list. I just happen to get lucky with being back on the list. I know it wont stand a chance after tomorrow but hey sh!t happens and thats that. But no Rob nothing to do with you. I appreciate the compliment on the car. It's had it's fair share of problems which is because I tend to think it's a Honda and drive it as much as I do. I've always wanted a Mustang growing up and bought this(my first one) 2 years ago. There were a few things added. Stangbangerz is a group of highly respected, motivated, people who love to go fast. The Dirty Dozen became THE list to be on. SBZ members are very Proud to be on that list. Hell, look at all the past memebers who are on the list, they wear their DD sticker on their car will GREAT PRIDE! (or somewhere in there garage where people will see it) Its not just a sticker we race for, its a sense of Pride, its a small token that shows other gear heads that we, truly are one of THE Dirty Dozen. If they think they have enough, see our badge and step up, or step the fuck off.....sorry about that.:o You see, thats why the rules were added. We didnt want any FN posers jumping on the site just to make the DD. The DD is OUR list!! There have been many other IMATATIONs, but none as prestigous as VINNYS, DIRTY DOZEN....

LoL I hear ya! You might not believe it, but i'm really not worried about it. Last saturday, I went ahead and strapped in my car just to show everyone that I wasn't scared to do it and to show everyone that I could do it. After all kinds of stuff going wrong (battery cable grounding itself to the body of the car and killing my altenator) and it making me look like a complete idiot, I just said the hell with it and just called it a year. It's not that i'm scared or dont think I can run a good number in my car. It's just that I hate racing at the track. I'm a big guy and trying to squeeze into my car with a helmet and all that bullcrap on...it sucks! I'd rather just let Craig go out and see what the car runs. I do race it on the street from time to time and have alot of fun doing it. I had alot of fun with my car this year but truthfully, i'm glad the season is over. Maybe next year my goal will be strapping in it myself and putting it in the 9's...or maybe it'll be traded off for something else over the winter. We'll just have to wait and see..

Already in the garage.... the #7 exhaust tube was CRUSHED and It blew out the bottom of the header gasket on that cylinder. I will fix it here in a bit... bout a 3 min job, (Except for the header), thats Robs special area!;)

This is a non-powershifted pass, I don't have the clutch switches hooked up at this time. This day at the track really makes me want to go nines with a stick. I knew that having a stick was more exiting(100 shot feels faster than a 200 shot with an auto), so the stick may stay in a little longer(next spring maybe). When I want to go mid nines(or faster), it will have an auto in it.

Just want to rant a little about the regret I have putting a stick back in my car. Problem is, in order to get a stick car to turn the times you would with a good auto, you need either a g-force (limit of power it will take), or a proshifted tremec. You stick guys can say what you want, but I know of at least three guys on here trapping close to 120 mph that are stuck in the low 11's. I guarantee a good auto will put these cars in the 10's! Say what you want about the fun factor, I just want to go fast! If it stops being fun, I have bigger jets Please feel free to post your neg/pos comments!

yo chad nice runs. ur definelty right about a stick car being a whole lot tougher to make fast especially if u dont have a dog ringed tranny of some kind. my g force doesnt have much of a option when going into gear. i dont even powershift my hupty im scared of the 2500 bux it will cost me to fix it. now for fun throw the dr tires on it. now it becomes an art to make it run in the 10s with a stick. im sticking with the dr tires and the 1.70 60fts and just haul ass on the big end. i think my stock brakes would explode at 135 or higher. 4.56s and 8k shift points oughta put me snuggly on the list next yr as long as brian and rick dont roll out with some low 9s like im expecting them to do. dont forget about dougies little project black hes got goin. nice job to the dozen guys. gets pretty expensive if u wanna be on the list. vinny would be proud forsure

I'd like to see a summary thread that has some details on the cars in the DD. The are the fastest cars around, let's see what make them go. These are proven setups and can help others not waste money on parts that didn't work. If someone wants to keep their info to themsleves, no big deal.

Here's what I'd be interrested in:

Motor:
Block, rotating assembly, heads, cam, intake, T/B and MAF or carb, C/R. Octane used, street and track.
Power adders: Brand and model. Pulley setup for boost/nitrous shot size/wastegate brand & size. Air charge cooler setup.

Trans:
Trans type and modifications. Clutch/TQ convertor. Shifter.

Suspension:
Any front and rear modifications from stock.

Rear Axle:
Size, ratio, spline count for axles & diff aloing with brand and model.

Wheels:
Brand and size- diameter, width, and offset. Spacer thickness if used.

Tires:
Size, brand, model, race PSI.

Weight:
Any deletes/manual parts used? Any additional weight from stock? Blowers, cage, steel bellhousing, etc..

Brakes:
Front & Rear, size, brand, pads.

What RPM do you leave at? When is nitrous used? What RPM do you shift at?

Lastly post up a few pics of the car.

i dont think u would get accurate info about alot of peoples parts. nitrous guys will spray the eyeballs out with a stock block and run 10s then say its only a hudred shot, when its really a dual action triple stage fogger kit with no pills just into the intake. blower guys will say im only running 12lbs of boost on my stock ass cobra and run low 10s. it would be accurate for na cars. my car has a lil 347 with 430s and drag radials runs 10.80s but wont make the list because i dont have a power adder. that would be embarassing to the members

imo the list has become a little skewered anyway, i think the original intent wasn't just the fastest cars owned by members, but fastest street cars really

Maybe next year I will make the list. I did have my personal best today on both motor and spray. Clutch slipping and smoking super bad on all my passes today. I think its time to put a fork in the old stock T-5 and stock clutch. It's beyond well done.
