I just put a 331 in my stang got everything back together, noticed a slight smoking issue out the exhust and thought it was just from the rings needing to seat. So i drove the car a little and it seamed to go away, but i was wrong, while at idle it starting smoking like a frieght train so I checked the plugs and no oil, I then took off the intake and no oil, after talking with shannon we decided to look at the turbo. we took off the cross over pipe and started the car up and no smoke was coming out of the headers or the exhust so we reved it up still no smoke out of the headers but it started smoking out the exhust. we then started pulling boost pipes and found oil all over the pipe directly connected to the turbo.
what i was wondeing is does any one know about how much and how to redo a master power turbo. I guess its the barrings and seals, or can someone recommend someone or someplace that is local to help me out

Put a restrictor on it it will stop pushing oil out

too much oil pressure would be my guess too. restrict it somehow and see if the smoke stops. If not then the seal is probably blown out and needs replaced.

we found what appears to be to much movement in the shaft. if your return line is to small would that cause a back up of oil and blow out the seals?

A restricted drain will cause oil to back up and do that.

Send Dedpedal a PM...he had a local place go threw his turbo for him...but I can't remember the name of the shop.

A turbo has some play in it so unless it is alot I whoult buy a restrictor for it and the smoke should go away keep in mind 1 drop of oil wil smoke for a good bit so be sure to run it for a while before you condem it

Yes your return line should be much bigger than the feed line and should be routed down as strait as posible. I have a #4 feed and a #12 return.

don't mess with deisel injection service there rebuilds suck and it will start smoking 30 days later again,send it to majestic like 89notch said:bigthumb then put the hammer down

if it's a masterpower throw it away and buy another,by the time u have it rebuilt it's cheaper to buy new,been there done that;)

I got a hold of brian at bg thats where the kit came from he thinks my return line is to small and letting to much oil build around the barring and making it bleed off into the exhust housing so i'm going to try the bigger return line that seems to be the way everyone is leaning towards so i'm crossing my fingers!! thanks for the input and i'll let you all know what happens

well I changed the oil return line and the smoking has stopped, so ye ha!!!!!!!!!!!

Good deal, I've read about lots of people having that same problem. I think I had a -10 welded to my canton pan. Its what was recommended at the time.

Ive always had a -4 feed with a -10 return and have never had any problems.

hay now, I have been in williamstown working all day and night. with no cell phone service so i havnt even been able to get on here with the phone!!! but it looks like this damn snow is going to let me get cought up on this thread.
and yes its a -12 brian at bg said 3/4 was what i should use so i should be good with a -12:bigthumb
