What would you do?

I thought I would ask some of the fellow Stangbangerz what
I should do about my transmission situation.....

It's an A-5 (astro) T-5 deal in a 90 lx w/ 290hp to the tires....
Supposedly this transmission will handle 450hp???

I put about 1,000 miles on it in 2007.... Drag raced several times....
mid to low 12's.... I sent it back down to Pro-Motion to make sure
everything was good for 2008 since I plan on racing all year and don't
want to be down in the middle of the year for any trans. issues....
(been there... done that...)

Somehow, 2nd gear is wearing abnormally and I'm only the 2nd guy out
of 490 that's had a problem....

Pro-Motion says it can't be my fault because everything else looks good...
Astro says that the gear almost had to look this way when they first
assembled the box... (You can see where this is going... :rolleyes:)

I spent over $1,600 on this trans when I got it brand new.....
(not like I'm a penny pincher here...or a one-stop $20 customer)

So, long story short...
I'm getting charged $179 for another 2nd gear.... and then
Pro-Motion asks me today if I want them to send it to me when
they get it back from Astro because it *could* be used again...

I understand things happen in drag racing etc. but give me a break....
290hp at the tires and this thing handles 450hp....

Just hoping someone else has been down this road and can give
some helpful feedback... Thanks All, :bigthumb
