It all started wed. Everything was running on schedule. I had 2 jobs to attend to in Westchester and one in Ky then I was done for the day. After I finnished, I was free to meet up with Kyle at the Log Cabin (a local resteurant) for a goetta filled breakfast. Any of you who know Big K also know of his addicting to this local delicacy and the lenghts he will go to in order to obtain it. Alas, Im rambling away from the story.
After finnishing both the jobs in Westchester, I turned my trusty work van south and made a heading for the state of disrepair south of the river. I know we are all a bunch of toothless, nonshoe wearing hillbilly rednecks down here, but today proved that I am one and proud of it. As I was rolling down Kyles Lane behind a box truck at about 30 miles per hour, I let my mind wander a bit. I had goetta on the brain. Needless to say, I was a bit late in noticing that the box truck was braking. Shaken out of my daydream, I quickly applied my own brakes and checked my six for any vehicles behind me. Just as I looked back to the front of the van, I began to sneeze. A sneeze is temporary paralization of all other body functions. About the time I got my wits together, the box truck dodged left and I felt the impact of something to the passengers side of my van. Clamped down on the brakes like a drowning man on a life line, I steered to the right and saw something rolling down the street in the side mirror. I freaked! The box truck is on the side of the road in front of me and theres a police officer rolling up the street.
When the officer got out of his car and approached me, I blurted out "I never saw him till after I hit. " I was visibly shaken and the officer knew it. Im sure he has training on how to deal with panick stricken citizens, but I couldnt get over the grin on his face. It was like he was laughing at me. Here, a 41 year old guy whos on the verge of tears, thinking hes going to jail for running someone over and this cop is laughing. I was about to change from panicked to irate when the officer took me gently by the arm and led me to the back of my van to show me the damage I had caused.
Low and behold, there on the curb sitting like it belonged there was it. I expected a body and my frantic mind hadnt allowed for cognizant thinking. Where was the ambulance and paramedics?
I guess everything started to add up at that point. No damage to my van, no blood anywhere and a couch sitting on the curb. No wonder there wasnt an ambulance.

"Objects in Mirror are larger than they appear"
Yea, I agree with that.

Did you take the couch home for the front porch? Or just hack off the side to hang on the wall over the fireplace?
