View Full Version : update: slow progress on 85 coupe

Been a while and have been busy with a move, and a new baby girl that is now 1 1/2 months old. Started on the 5 lug swap with disc rears. Picked up the used cobra wheels and think they will look great when the car is painted. Installed a 12 gal. cell in the trunk, put the tranny back in, put what I have of an interior back in and finally buttoned up my motor. I need some headers and a clutch and its ready to drop in. Well thats it for now money was tight last year when I started digging into this thing and is even tighter now!

Well at least you dont have the engine in your kitchen anymore. Keep at it.

Looks like it will turn out to be a nice ride. I hear ya on the money crunch, i had to stop on my stang project also. Good luck on the project.:bigthumb

You are farther along than mine. I have an 81 notch with an 86 nose and tail lights. My plan is a 90 5.0 EFI, T-5, and 8.8, newer dash and wiring. Check my thread and pics. I don't have alot of money tied up in it, just time. Yours looks good. What are your plans for it?

Looks nice. I like any year mustang, but I can say I like the 4 eyed cars the best. Keep posting pics.

I would recommend a little trick for that fuel line you've got....cut about 6 inches out of the center of it between the bowls and put some rubber fuel line in its place. This will allow you to unbolt the bowls to do jet changes without having to take that fuel line off....it's one less thing to deal with.

That's old school dual line double pumper. I have been through a few of them in my time.

Too bad I can only get on here about once a month (everytime I visit my mother) anymore...I transfered a lot closer to my house to save some fuel cost so I'll probably be getting the Internet connection back soon! I love all the advice you you guys have, I do not know much about tweaking on carbs but once shes running I'm pretty sure the Holley DP platform is a decent one to learn on.
