i got a stock 91 lx 5.0 , got a lil m,oney to spend. Swappin the t-5 out for a c4 with stall. i would like to get the gt40 heads which ones are better the p's or just the gt40's. Also what cam should i go with intake etc... I was thinkin edelbroke performer intake B cam gt40 heads or the P's , I'm just tryin to get the right intake and cam to match etc..

On the cheap you have the right idea. There is not enought difference in the P's and regular gt40s other than the P's need special shorty headers and some regular long tubes work with them. The explorer intake cobra intake and performer intake are all good on the cheap. With the right converter tires suspension you should have a high 11 second car and about 290-300hp at the wheels with an Auto.

Thanks tim, I've tired of driving this 14 sec car so i gotta do something and im on a low budget , figured gt40 heads, would a performer intake and a b cam match good or would you suggest a bigger cam??? e or x maybe. I heard b cam wasnt good for auto.. I have found a nice performer for 300 and then i found a explorer for about 150 with a throttle body which is better than stock right so that would help, thanks for your time. also what kinda spring and struts should i go with ? rear end gears???

I dont know much about what E B X cam works with what combo. I ran gt40p heads Cobra intake 1.7 rockers stock cam short headers on a stock shortblock it went 12.40's 3400lbs on BFG Radials. With a built 310 BES Shortblock it went 11.90-12.00 60's were in the 1.60- 1.64 with a 5spd. WIth less weight Real Slicks it would have gone much faster.

so with this set up you would guess high 11's I would like to throw a kit on it maybe 150 shot so what gear would be the best

i recommend a 3:73 gear perfect for around town and at the track. I have a 4:10 in mine really nice gear unless your doing alot of highway driving then not so good lol. 150 shot is safe on a stock engine well 125 was on mine and ran it 1 1/2 years like that.

whats everyone think about the explorer intake how does it compare tp the reg gt40

The Lower is the same on all gt40 Cobra Explorer intakes. The Explorer Intake works great. The cobra intake makes a few more HP and the GT40 tubular intake is supposed to make even more. I ran Explorer Lower and ran both the Explorer upper and the Cobra upper was supposed to be worth more power but I never noticed the difference.
