I am about to go get the pump for the car and have been planing on a a1000. My question is this the pump I want or is somrthing else better.
Setup is/ will be by the time I am done
Stock exploder motor w E-cam and 1.7's
T70
C4 and 3.27's in a 2500pd car.

I want as quit as possable pump and I don't want to ever think about it once installed and I want to drive the piss out of it on the street (maybe even dd duty). If this is not what i need I don't mind a few more buck to do it rite the first I just don't want to waste 300 and not be happy. Also anyone have issues with lifespan?

Are you going to run FI or carb? Im running an A1000 on my carb setup and its plenty but if you going efi than you might want to look at something else. Also it will depend on what kind of fuel pressure you going to be running.

I had a a1000 and its loud and heard of reliability issues with them. i switched to a bosch o77 pump, very quiet, deadly reliable, and supports more then you will be able to make with a T70. also cheaper

It is Efi

Is that bosch a frame pump? got any info? I am all for saving money if I still meet my goals. Oh and I am not worried about what I make with the t70 it is the stock block I am sweating :(

I have an a1000, it gave me a little trouble, but it was my fault. I didn't have turndowns, and the heat from the exhaust was blowing straight onto the pump. I put turndowns on and haven't had any trouble since. I made 637 rwhp with the a1000 with no problems, but that was probably near it's limit. If your running a stock block, the a1000 will support more than it will hold. If you plan on making more than that, an eliminator may be a better choice.

Ok so new Question At what point do the stock fuel rails become a prob? I know they aren't a prob with a stock block but they are a some point I assume.

when you get to more than 450 to 500 to the rear wheels then it time to change, they say 550 is the limit but thats pushing it I think!

When you switch to the A1000 the stock lines must go. I have an A1000 on my car and have had no problems but if I do I will be switching to the bosch setup since they are so quiet.

How are you going to adapt the fuel lines to the rail. IMO, if your going to swap the lines, just swap the rails and regulator while your at it.

14.99 Russel adapters untill $ permits rails. Plus for this summer I will be putting around N/a to get the bank account a breather and get all the other bugs worked out (only thing I haven't changed out was the dash and body)

If I'm not mistaken, those are used to adapt from stock lines (feed) to braided, for aftermarket rails. You may not need to upgrade your fuel lines yet anyway, you may want to just run a 255 in tank, that may be enough. And if not, they are never hard to sell.

It is a 78 fairmont so no in tank and the stock lines are ehhh so I am just running new to make life easier and running the a1000 since it is a frame rail mount. Those fittings are to run -08 into the rails. I will later go with the edelbrock rails and the mallory 3 port race reg with a return but I have not bought the Efi spyder intake yet ether so not need to hassle with the rails yet I think. I just now have to decide what I am doing for a tank. I don't want to do a cell as I want a street car (with trunk) and I am not a real fan of the sump hanging down low. So I think I am going to try to build my own sump on a new tank and make it not hang so low.
