Today I give my opinion on a few of Leinenkugel Brewing Co. beers.

First beer- Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat

http://beeradvocate.com/im/articles/699-1.jpg

Great beer. I can drink a lot of this stuff. Derek Kernodle got me started drinking this stuff in Bowling Green at the NMRA race last year.
Great as a draft with a slice of orange, or right outa the bottle.
It gets two thumbs up. :bigthumb :bigthumb

Second beer- Leinenkugel's Apple Spice

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2164/1956085204_8c6dfc152e.jpg

I tried a sixer of this around Thanksgiving and did not really like it.
It taste like someone diluted your beer with apple juice. hell nah. :(
I stoumached through two, but I still have 4 going bad in the fridge after four months. I cant bring myself to dump them, but I dont want to drink them. :)
Dont waste your time on this one...unless you like Zima or something.

Third beer- Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss

http://louisvilleky.smugmug.com/photos/163894199-M.jpg

pronounced "honey Wise"
I just tried this for the first time tonight and its pretty good.
at 4.5% alcohol it will get the job done with a good taste. I herd you can try it with a slice of lemon, but I didnt have a lemon hanging out waiting to get sliced up. I say try it, go get a six pack! :bigthumb

Im going to try the Summer Shandy here soon.

Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat is awesome. Rachel and I get it all the time. We were going to see if we can get a half barrel of it for our basement warming party. Not sure if they have it available though - need to check party source! :bigthumb

Interesting reviews Matt.
I just have a hard time drinking a beer where they suggest putting slices of fruit in it! ;)

The worst hangover in recent memory came from a buddy and I drinking a Sunset wheat 6pack and a Honey weiss 6pack. Throw in a bottle or two of Dundee Honey wheat and that is all we drank that night. We drank over a 4 or 5 hour period, so it wasn't a chug fest. They did go down easy and tasted good, but I wouldn't advise drinking past a 6 pack. Maybe it was the sweetness.....I don't know, but that hangover is in my top 5 worst ever.
On the other side of things +1 for the Yeungling! Good stuff if only it was local!!

Sunset Wheat is one of my favorite beers. I tried the Summer Shandy last year. It was different, but I think I'm going to try it again this year to form a true opinion. I just bought a 6-pack of Landshark yesterday, man that is some good stuff!! I seem to like the "island" style beers...Corona, Miller Chill and now Landshark.

I love Sunset Wheat. For some reason, the smell reminds me of fruity pebbles.

My new favorite though has got to be Shock Top!!!

i like sunset wheat and honey brown, landshark, red stripe, PBR(if im in a pinch), and of course Miller High Life (after all it is the champagne of beers)
we should have a beer tasting party this summer that would be fun and a good way for people to meet each other.

I like the Sam Adam's summer ale. I think that is what it's called. Other than that, I usually stick to my Bud and Keystone. I was first turned onto Keystone in Bowling Green '05', which I like to blame for the burning of picnic tables:lol:

+1 on the Yoengling. I get it at the base up here when they have it in. I have a few friends that can get into the bx and pick it up for me. Kind of pricey there, but it beats a blank. One of the finest lagers I have ever drank. I also like Leinenkugels stuff, it's really good, but had a bad experience one night with a stomach virus and now I just can't even take the smell of it! sucks!

duvel, at 8.5% it doesn't taste like 8.5% Pretty good stuff but it's like $12 for 4 of them.

If you ever get a chance, try Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. You won't believe the taste. A quick alternative to the spring orange spiced wheat ales is a really quick pour of some orange juice instead of the slice of orange. Draft they are the bomb tho. If you like the spiced spring type wheat beers try Sam Adams white Ale, it's got like 10 different spices, another good one is Tommyknocker Jack Whacker ale, it's got a lemon zing instead of the orange peel. It's not easy to find tho, just gotta find the right bar. There's a few down here in lexington that serve tons of different kinds of beer. A go-to beer for me is either newcastle or miller lite when I'm drinking a lot since A)it's cheaper B)I won't blow up like balloon over time. Someone here mentioned Land shark, I think it's even better than Corona, it ought to be too, it's about the same price while still being a domestic. If you like stouts, Beamish, Samuel Smith Oatmeal, and Young's Double chocolate are where it's at. Guinness has nothing on these 3.
