SR20DET swapped sentra

Clutch pedal is on the floor.
Clutch pedal will not return from the floor.
Have to rev match to shift at all times.
Brakes work fine.

Question-
What are some first steps I should take a look at.
Leaky Slave?
What makes it return to home position when it works correctly, etc.

Thanks!

on my old car it was a spring connected to the pedal itself. your mustang has a hydo clutch?

Not sure if that was added to Pauls original post or not, but FYI smurf.

Check for leaks first. If there are no leaks one of the slave or master is bypassing.

I'm not sure what "by-passing" means in this context.

Would you mind explaining? :)

The fluid is bypassing the o-rings or plunger in the master or slave cylinder. Think of the system as when you press the pedal you are pushing a plunger that creates presssure in the line. That pressure pushs on the plunger in the slave whichs presses in the clutch fork or pressure plate. If the plunger is damaged when you press the pedal the fluid could bypass by it.

You could also have a shot clutch and pressure plate.

Have you had to add fluid, to the clutch cylinder?

If so, it could have air in the line.

Remember too, if it is leaking, it could be leaking on the back side. Check the carpet and all the rubber around the push rod, on the inside of the car.

ya my bad I didn't see the sentra part and I agree with timido. And have you had to add fluid lately?
