I want to make sure I buy a good, quality pan the first time. I'm wanting a good street/strip pan. What brand do you guys recomend? Its for a 351w in a fox, with a Team Z tube K member.
If I go with the drop K member so the 351w sits lower, what pans have good ground clearance? I have heard of some brands, specifically Canton, having issues with steering rack clearances, but I don't specifically remember the case.

I have a moroso 7 gt 20520 http://www.moroso.com/catalog/images/20520_part.jpg Works as advertised. Dont get the T-pan Where the rear sump looks like a T I think they are more road race pans. They are evil when you are trying to put them on and they get in the way of exhaust and starters and everything.

I bought the team z k-member with the 1" drop. Dave sets the rack down 1-5/8" for pan clearance. I'm using a canton pan. Used a canton on the 408 car with a qa1 rack back in the day at stock height with solid mounts and didn't have any clearance issues then either.

do you plan on running a high volume oil pump?

I run a canton pan, but if you're not running a high volume pump, I would get the stock swap pan.

I run Canton Road Race Pan - its a pain in the ass to get to seal and absolutely forget about getting it off without lifting the motor. But on the upsides, I would run nothing else for Road Racing as it does a great job of keeping you from starving for oil in the twisties.

Canton or Moroso both good pans.

How is the ground clearance?
That is another thing I forgot to mention guys, is that I have Energy Suspension motor mounts which also drop the motor some.
Should I stick with the stock height K member, or should I go with the dropped version?
From what I have found one hardcore50, looks like a lot of those guys like the precision oil pumps, www.precisionoilpumps.com . I've been thinking about giving them a call and telling them my plans, and see what they can do for me.

I haven't set it in the engine bay yet, but really there's way too many variables to figure that out with your combo. I'm setting mine down 1-3/4" to fit it under a 1.5" hood. Its also going to be set back 1". How low do you plan on putting the car? Coilovers up front will let me have as much or as little clearance as I need.

I use the Canton T pan on my car. No issues so far at all with it. We tried mac long tubes with one and it had issues fitting with one or two tubes. I have used other headers and had no issues. The Moroso pans I have used have leaked and the T pans have had issues with starter and other clearance issues.

I've also got a 1.5" cowl hood, and I'll be running coilovers up front as well. I'll be running 17's up front, and I'd like to drop the car so the tire fits flush with the fender. I think I'll just get a Canton and see what happens.
I would think that moving the actual rack mounting points down that far on the Team Z K, would kill geometry. I mean, thats the whole point of the offset rack bushings is to raise the rack, so the threaded arms coming from the rack are closer to parallel with the ground. If the rack was dropped 1 5/8", that would create some crazy angles!

I'm thinking a bumpsteer kit will be in order.

I think you're right. I'll honestly probably get whatever I can find for the cheapest. Header clearance will not be an issue on this car:D:D. I'm also running a mini starter.
