im planning on heading to jegs tomorrow or later today and im curious to what k member and coilovers people are using

im aware of a few "kits" that they sell (one including granitelli(SP?)) but if anyone can can give me pro's and con's of some other companies before i waste money on cheap parts.

thanks

granatelli = junk for the most part. UPR makes a nice K member and coilovers, strange makes a good set of coilovers. Stay away from the QA1 K member. Their coilovers use to be good. Get some good caster/camber plates while your at it. 4 bolt is best but 3 bolt will work. Its helps strengthen the strut tower since more load is being applied.

I have Pa K member and a arms. I am running MM Motorsport Cc plates, and strange coilover kit with strange 10 way adjustable struts.

I have a QA1 in mine and there were no significant issue with installing it. The worst part was grinding down the bolts for the a arms. UPR is probably the best deal out there. A friend of mine bought a PA because of their reputation and they nickle and dimed him on every little thing. Maximum Motorsports makes a great K member but its not all that light. If you are looking to do the whole set up in front with the coil overs and tubular a arms I would give Mike at Dayton Perfomance a call about the UPR package. If I had to do all over again thats probably the route I would have gone.

Maximum Motorsports - designed right, fits right, and holds up to all of the abuse I have thrown at it.

I have heard the AJE stuff is decent but I don't recall anyone I know having one. Are you looking at that kit they offer because it contains some of Granatelli's junk.

AJE makes some great stuff.

granatelli has poor quality control and cheaper materials, hench the cheaper price. Go onto modularfords.com and search for "granatelli junk" Some guy got a set of upper control arms from them and one of them was welded crooked and shipped to him.

I believe cincy speed had a few in stock the last time I was there. I have a qa1, and would never buy another one. qai pushes the wheelbase 3/4" forward, which gives 79-90 cars rubbing issues. I used to have a D and D, header clearance issues with those. Honestly, if your not doing anything crazy or custom, upr is probably your best bet.

Alittle trimming and the QA1 fits perfect. Butif you buy new stuff you shouldnt have to cut to fit either.

I have an AJE k-member and a-arms... I've bought a product from PA Racing before and there was an issue with it and when I tried to return it, basically got told to deal with it... :( A local guy also broke one of there a-arms, mild steel..... There used to be a pic on the Corral....

Maximum Motorsports has nice stuff too....

today im thinkinga bout going to jegs and picking up a carb, intake manifold, motor mounts, aftermarket shifter so i can put the engine and trans in soon.

then save up more money and buy the whole front suspension and rear suspension at once and get it all done.

what would you guys suggest for spring rate on the front. going to be more of a strip car than street... but it'll be on the street once in a whie and im not really worried about ride quality

I would go with 14" 150 pound rate.... go from there and see how you like those.

im planning on buying the K member kit from PA and im not sure if you can go in and choose what length of springs on there. all im aware of is the rate, which is the ideal or a ballpark range to be in LB wise
