need carfax and lemon laws

like title says i need somebody to run a carfax for me my aunt bought a car a few weeks ago and now we are being told it needs a motor and trans and i have a feeling the guy knew about it and does anybody know anything about the lemon laws of indiana

If you buy a used car, unless there is a posted warranty on it, it's sold "as is". If you don't inspect the car adequately to determine it's mechanical condition, you're pretty much SOL. Something as serious as "needs a new motor and trans" would have come up in a proper mechanical inspection, unless the mechanic that she took it to is overstating the issue as well.
