View Full Version : 3650 survive with 400-450 HP?

I finally bought a mod motor for the coupe...Only problem is it has a 3650 behind it instead of the T-56. Will a 3650 live behind a roots blown mod motor makin 400-450 HP? I know nothing about them at all. It has a alum. flywheel and a SPEC stage II with a Roush shifter, other than that it's stock 2001 GT mustang piece.

Sell the 3650 and buy a T-56! The T-56 was one of the cooler things about your swap!

I will eventually swap to the 6-speed, I just wanna get this thing back on the road ASAP, and I couldnt pass up the deal... tired of following the wife in a focus:lol:

The input shaft and the sycro's are the weak points. Just don't dump it with slicks and a grabby clutch and don't powershift and it should be alright for a while.

I run ET Streets and powershift my 02 GT. Spec Stg 2 clutch, 27x10.5 ET Street....369RWHP/495 RWTQ.

Been through many bottles just fine. My synchros went out last year....I have put 5000+ miles on it and 300+ powershifts +10 or so bottles through the car....no problems.

Just get a GOOD shifter and dont miss a gear.

If you get a T56, get one from an F-body or get a Viper Spec one....the 03/04 Cobra ones and the normal ones sold are crap....their gear ratios are garbage.
