hey guys neone got a good carb i could bolt on my car and see if my carb is wats wrong i think my accelerator pump is bad or i need to change the cam in my carb or neone good with holley carbs this is a 650 dp

What seems to be the prob?Bad hesistation on intial step down?Yes there are several differnt pump cams(diff colors) with more than 1 setting each..also differnt squirter sizes....30 cc or 50 ccc size accel pumps.......fining tuning is required.....

Also DP's have 2 accel pumps....

well i pump the gas twice fires right up runs bout ten seconds and dies like it runs out of gas i have fuel pressure gauge says 5 psi all the time

Does this DP have a choke ?And a fast idle circuit?

its manual choke but dont know bout that circuit board im not a mechanic lol i just wish i could get my stang on the road really need some one to come look at it and tune it if they can im in middletown ohio if neone out there can help and theanks for the advice it does help but i dont want to buy the cams if i dont need them ?

I'd bump the pressure to 6lbs and see what that does. Also is your float level set too low?

i had a guy adjust that to where it run out the side and set it there that should be good right ??? ill try to bump to 6 lbs i guess

Actually you want to get it to where it just barely trickles out of the site holes and then drop it just a hair to where it does not come out at all. You should also get you a holley carb tuning book, it will make life alot easier. I think Craig has them at the shop or you could even check one out from the library.

ok i guess im making a trip to cincy this sat. thanks for the help i guess the book will explain everything to an idiot lol :lol:
