Just for grins and giggles did you try taking it to one of the jewelry stores that are buying back gold? I've seen a lot of TV promotion lately as they claim that the price of gold is up and yadda yadda. I've been thinking about it lately as I have my ring from my first wedding that is just sitting around collecting dust. Maybe I might have some gas money if I sell it! :lol:

I traded in some of my gold rings to a shop over on RT4 in fairfield,the dude there gave me some really damn good money for them.

ya she took em there and sold alot of her gold. She said this morning she has to have atleast 500 out of the ring. She doesnt want it anymore. it was from a past marriage.

Kays/Leroys and whoever else they own...Ostermans too I think, will give you what you paid for it (you have to furnish a receipt) and you have to buy something twice that cost.

So if you paid a grand, you have to buy something for 2 grand, but you get a grand credit from the trade. So you still only spend a grand.

Service Merchandise would do that too, before they went under, only it had to be purchased from their store.

I had purchased a ring off E bay for $300 and Leroy's gave me $600 for it towards the purchase of Ron's wedding band.
