Input? - Dash BRAKE Idiot Light

Gang,

For the past 6 months my brakes are working fine, but now the light is on.

History:

87 GT Vert
good brakes
The Dash Idiot light is on with the emergency brake down, and on with it up!

any ideas?

Brakes work fine, high pedal, all feels normal.

Did you check the fluid level in the resevoir?

Unplug the one on the master cylinder or the one for the e-brake?

The one in the MC is a float switch, if you have fluid it's good. I've had the spring loaded switch on the e-brake lever vibrate off its mount before and cause the light to come on.

Fluid's good. and as i raise the parking brake it goes off. Will mess with the master cylinder one tonight and check the one on the ebrake.

confirmed this week, yanked the colsole up to find the switch for the ebrake screw had backed out.
